No Greater Love

"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” - John 15:13 (NKJV)

Hi Partners, Family and Friends,

This last week we have had Easter/Passover weekend and ANZAC day.  We have been reminded of the great sacrifice that has been paid for us to enjoy the freedoms that we have all come to love.

Yesterday we stopped to remember the ANZAC's and those that gave their lives for us all, so that we can enjoy the freedoms and peace that has been obtained at such great cost.  We also remembered and said prayers for those that are serving our countries today to keep the world in peace.  These brave men and women put their lives on the line selflessly for the lives of others.  Lest we forget.

This last week we also were reminded through our Good Friday and Easter worship celebration services, of the great price that our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ paid to set us free from eternal slavery.  Jesus Christ fought a war, a spiritual war, laying down His life so that through His shed blood and great sacrifice at Calvary, we all could lay hold of eternal life through him.

We must also pray, for our dear Christian brothers and sisters that have lost loved ones, family members and friends, in the terrible terrorism attacks upon churches in Sir Lanka.  Keep praying for all those that be in authority in the nations, that God would give them wisdom in these times and keep praying for the message of the gospel, "Peace on earth and goodwill to all people", to touch the hearts of all mankind.  The world needs the message of God's love and the message of Easter, more now than ever before.  We need to pray for a true revival in the hearts of people, to see souls saved and hearts won for Christ.

Remember, Jesus said to love God with all of your heart and to love your neighbour as you love yourself.  Love, the God kind of love, lays down it's own agenda to help, uplift, bless and encourage its neighbour.  I remember that my Dad always said, "if you cannot do someone a good turn, don't do them a bad one."

Let us look for ways every day, how we can bless and add value to other people's lives.  Let's become people lifters, by finding ways to serve, help and encourage others.

This last week, Kerrie and I took some time out to go and see a movie called 'Breakthrough'.  A couple of people in our church had seen this movie and Pastor Brian told me at the prayer meeting, "if you want to be encouraged go see this movie."  I dare you to take a friend, your spouse or some family members and shout them to see this movie!  It is about a true story of a Mum that fought for her adopted son's life.  She fought the good fight of faith and received a miracle from the Lord by the power of the Holy Spirit.  She got her son back from the dead!

This is a true story of how a whole community came together to pray for the young man that had died and God answered their prayer by restoring life to the young man.

Once again, the movie is called 'Breakthrough'.  It is currently screening at Events cinemas.  I am including a link below so that you can go online and watch the trailer.  You can also get their names and google the testimony of the mother and son with their pastor.  Kerrie watched the testimony and then insisted that we go and see the movie and I am so glad I did!  Just like Pastor Brian encouraged me, I am encouraging you, where possible, to go and see this true story or God's amazing grace, love and miracle working power.

God bless,
