Thankfulness

"Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever."- Psalm 107:1

Hi Partners, Family and Friends,

From the above verse, we can hear the psalmist instructing us to have a grateful and thankful heart. Our God is a good God, and His mercy endures forever.

I have been sharing on going, growing and giving, through our present circumstances that the whole world is facing right now. This Coronavirus and its effects on peoples lives, families and businesses have changed the way we do things, in so many ways. Businesses have been devastated, lives have been lost, and our world has been forever changed. But there is one thing that never changes, and it is God and His Word. His Word is law- spiritual law.

God's Word is the one constant that we can anchor our hearts and souls to in life. God's Word promises us hope and a future. In Jeremiah 29:11 it declares, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."

We can see from this verse that God is thinking about us all the time. Our God has great plans for our livesGod has planned a future for you.  As I have thought about my last couple of blogs on, "Don't just go through things but grow through things" and "To keep growing, we must continue to keep giving." I thought and dwelt upon our posture or attitude we should have in life, which brought me back to Psalm 107.

This Psalm is all about having an attitude of gratitude and expressing great thanksgiving to God, for who He is and what He is. He is the good God, who is forever merciful to us, redeeming us, delivering us and bringing us back to a place of safety.

One thing the Lord has shown me to do, and I have shared this through my blogs and teachings, and that is, we should be partaking communion often and regularly. There is power in remembering what Jesus has done for us and declaring His works with thanksgiving.

The Word says in Psalm 107:2, "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy."

Here we are reminded that as God's purchased possession, bought back from the powers of darkness and our enemy, Satan. We are to declare, with thanksgiving to God, this victory constantly. We are to be forever thankful and grateful for what Jesus did on the Cross of Calvary, by shedding His blood and giving His life for us.

There is no better way to go through life or grow through life, than by having an attitude of gratitude and constantly praising God for His goodness and wonderful works to the children of men. Remember, John 10:10 says, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." It is Satan that comes to destroy, but it is Jesus who comes to give us God's life in all of its abundance.

As you partake communion, I encourage you to decree and to declare all of the great promises of God that are yours, through Jesus Christ. Confess who you are, what you can do and what you have in Him. Thank Him for all the little blessings and things in your life as well. Think of all the people that have made you, who you are today. Thank God for each and every person that has come in and out of your life, shaping you into the person you are.

The Word says to be thankful always and give thanks in all things. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Hebrews 12: 28-29 (NLT) says, "Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshipping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire."

We have received an unshakable kingdom; the kingdom of God is within us.  Jesus is The Rock, and we have built our life on this unmovable rock.  Let's not allow ourselves to be shaken or troubled in mind or spirit, but let us with shouts of joy and thanksgiving, go through each and every situation we face in life. Praise your way through life today by giving thanks to God!

God bless and much love,

Ps. Shaun Marler
