Prayer Stops Plagues

 Dear Partners, family and friends,

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

The bible says in Hebrews 8:6 that we have a "better covenant" than the Israelites had.  Many times when the Israelites were facing destruction, plagues or unbeatable odds, they would cry unto the Lord and He would save them and deliver them from their distresses.  

If God can protect them, He can surely protect us as well.  God repeatedly saved His people out of disaster.  He can save you too. 

1 Chronicles 21:14-16 says, "So the Lord sent a plague on Israel, and seventy thousand men of Israel fell dead. 15 And God sent an angel to destroy Jerusalem. But as the angel was doing so, the Lord saw it and relented concerning the disaster and said to the angel who was destroying the people, “Enough! Withdraw your hand.” The angel of the Lord was then standing at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.  David looked up and saw the angel of the Lord standing between heaven and earth, with a drawn sword in his hand extended over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell facedown."

1 Chronicles 21:18, "Then the angel of the Lord ordered Gad to tell David to go up and build an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite."

1 Chronicles 21:26-28 says, "David built an altar to the Lord there and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. He called on the Lord, and the Lord answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of burnt offering. Then the Lord spoke to the angel, and he put his sword back into its sheath.  At that time, when David saw that the Lord had answered him on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, he offered sacrifices there.

We can see in this biblical account when the leaders humbled and prayed.  When the people of God humbled themselves and prayed, the plague was stopped.  God intervened and stopped the plague.  

Acts 10:34 says, "Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:"

If God stopped the plague then, saving and delivering His people.  Then He can stop the plague NOW!  

We live in a world that increasingly refuses to acknowledge God.  This world is convinced that we can solve our own problems.  Perhaps God is trying to get our attention.  Perhaps the reason God has allowed these things that are happening in our world right now, is so that we will humble our hearts and turn back to Him in prayer, seeking His deliverance and healing for our land.  It is time to cry out to God, to humble ourselves in prayer and even fasting, to see His hand of deliverance and healing upon our land.

I know regardless of whatever the reasons are for the distress on nations today, it is time for us to put our trust in God again.  

Isaiah 35:4 says, Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”

The devil comes only to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, our Rock, our Fortress and our Deliverer, comes to heal, bring peace and set us free!  

I am urging every leader that reads this, every Pastor and every believer, let's gather together in our church groups, home groups, prayer groups.  Let's humble ourselves, by calling our people to prayer.  Let's call for our cities to be delivered and set free from this plague.  Let's call on our God, to summons His power and show us His strength as He has done before, delivering us from the powers of darkness.  If you know elected leaders, or officials, encourage them to seek the Lord in prayer, call on God for the healing of our cities and land.

I call Brisbane to repentance this day.  Let us humble ourselves, under the hand of God.  Let us turn back to Him, repenting of things that are displeasing to Him.  Let's seek the Lord with all our hearts for our cities, our land and our nation to be healed.  Father, we love you and we call on Your name and in the name of Jesus, we release healing and freedom upon our lands.  

Friends, let's seek the Lord afresh.  Let's get on our knees, fall to our faces before Him.  Jesus, we need you right now.  Come, in Your strength and Your power!

Honour your man of God

“Render to all men their dues. [Pay] taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, and honor to whom honor is due.” Romans 13:7 (AMP) The word honour means: to respect, to revere, to treat with deference and submission and perform relevant duties to. THE LAW OF REPETITION

What you hear repeatedly, you will eventually believe. Repetition, our school teachers know this basic law of learning. That’s why when we were at school, we learned many things in our early years by repetition. Someone once said, “You must hear something at least 16 times, before you eventually believe it”. Television commercials are repeated over and over. These are backed up by newspaper, magazine, internet and billboard advertisements. The marketers know we must continually hear and see something before we respond to it.  Romans 10:17 says “ So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God ”.  It simply takes time to absorb a message.
