Changing Times Part 3

Dear Partners, Family and Friends,

"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come" - Matthew 24:14.

As you can see, Jesus said, "this Gospel of the Kingdom would be preached in the whole earth, and then the end would come." I believe we are living in the time of the end. The word 'end' here has an interesting meaning. In the Greek, it is the word 'telos' and it means 'an end or event or issue', such as 'closure with all its results'.  So we are basically in the time of reaching the end of the Church Age, when the Gospel is preached into all the world. This word 'world' means 'the inhabited world' or 'the inhabited earth'.  The nations means 'all of the Gentile world; a race of people or nation; people of similar customs'.

As I watched the live service of the Queen's funeral during the week, I was very blessed and encouraged by the scriptures that were spoken and proclaimed and the hymns and songs that were sung.

The Queen had planned her own funeral service, picking the very hymns that were to be sung and the scriptures that were to be read. The good news of the Kingdom was absolutely declared through these scriptures and songs. The Queen's faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His victory over death, sin and the grave, were proclaimed to all that tuned in. It was said that the Queen had no fear of death because of her strong Christian faith.

It was estimated that approximately four billion people watched her funeral service. Imagine that! This is approximately half the world's population. One in every two people on the inhabited earth heard the Gospel, and the testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ, who gives life to all who believe and put their trust in Him.  This good news was heard through the life and faithful service of this amazing woman and the songs and scriptures she chose at her committal.

The following scripture from 1 Corinthians, was part of the verses that were read:

1 Corinthians 15:51-58

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

The Lord Jesus Christ overcame sin, the grave and death for us.  He is the Good Shepherd.  It was so wonderful to listen to the hymn, 'The Lord is My Shepherd,' sung from the 23rd Psalm.

In these days of changing times, with all of the uncertainty in our world, we can all put our trust in the fact that Jesus is still the King of Kings and the Lord of all Lords!  He will take care of us, watch over us, bless us and provide for us.

As the rod was broken (representing a change in authority) and earthly Kings come and go, God's love for you never changes. His Word is our rock and our constant in this changing world.

God bless,

Ps. Shaun Marler
