The Blessing Cup
Dear Partner, Family and Friends,
“The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?.” - 1 Corinthians 10:16
Communion is all about remembering Jesus, how He partook of our sins, becoming sin for us and taking our sicknesses in His own body as He died for us on the Cross of Calvary. Jesus became sin for us, partook of this so that we could partake of His righteousness, being made righteousness because He became or was made, sin. Jesus took the full curse of the law that was due us for our sins and rebellion against God.
His blood was shed to cleanse us and to make the way for us to enter into covenant with God. This covenant we have with God is a blood covenant. It is sealed with God’s blood, divine blood, innocent and holy blood. Through this blood (Christ shed blood) we enter into, and have access to, the full covenant of Abraham and all its blessings.
Communion is one of the most powerful Christian sacraments that imparts divine grace to our lives. The word in the Greek is the word ‘Koinonia’ which means partnership and participation. Through Communion, God partners with us in life. He participates in our affairs. Through Communion, we become co-labourers together with God, and he becomes co-labourers together with us.
Through Communion, we participate with God and all that He did on the Cross of Calvary in giving to us ‘The Blessing of Abraham’ through Jesus Christ. We are then empowered for divine service in the Kingdom and ministry. We stand by faith in this grace in Jesus’ mighty name. We remember Jesus, that it is now "Christ in us the hope of glory."
This is the great exchange when we enter into covenant with God and we exchange what we have for what He has. We exchange our life for His. He gave His life for us. We exchange our sicknesses (He took them on the cross), for His health and healing. We exchange our sins (He took them on the cross, being made a curse for us) for His righteousness. We become the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
He took our poverty, and gave us His prosperity.
“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.” - 2 Corinthians 8:9
We can now richly enjoy the full privileges of being a child of God. This is the Abrahamic Covenant Blessing and all that it represents.
"The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it." - Proverbs 10:22
Every time we take Communion, let's remember our Lord Jesus Christ. Let's examine ourselves, as the Word says. As we examine ourselves, if we find sickness, sin, weakness, poverty or lack (debt), then look at Jesus' body, His resurrected body, as He is now and remember He already took ALL of these above mentioned things in His body and became a curse for us on the cross. See yourself completely whole and well in every area of your life by faith. Get a picture of yourself through Christ as more than a conqueror over these things and use the authority of the Name of Jesus to tell them to go, die, leave and/or get out of your body. Tell whatever Satan is using to pull you down, that it was defeated by Christ at the cross, and tell that thing it is under your feet. Defeated for you by Christ and declare yourself healed, whole, and prosperous because that was purchased for you by the broken body and shed blood of Christ.
Remember "as He is, so are we in this world." - 1 John 4:17b
I dare you to see yourself as Christ sees you. I am praying for you to receive everything Christ went to the cross and paid the price for you to have.
God bless,
Ps. Shaun Marler
