Don't Let Faith Fade!
Don't Let Faith Fade!
Dear Partners, Friends & Family,
"Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren." Deuteronomy 4:9
This morning I was asking God for a word to send out to you wonderful people. As I came out of my bedroom I noticed that Kerrie had left Jerry Savelle Ministries newsletter on the side bench for me to read. I felt to pick it up and five words jumped out at me, "Faith fades when we forget". Caroline Savelle had written the news letter and had included testimonies of when Jerry Savelle had believed for a citation jet and twenty years later, that very jet that he had seen and sat in, came into his ministry. From that first day, God had instructed him to name that jet and call it into his ministry and through the passage of time, Jerry had remained faithful to that instruction. That very same plane manifested and by a miraculous set of circumstances became a ministry tool that he used to carry the gospel to the nations.
I felt to entitle this message today "Don't Let Faith Fade". From the above verse God instructs us not to forget the marvelous things that our eyes have seen and not to let them slip from our heart as long as we live, but instead to teach them to our children and our grandchildren. God is a miracle working God and He informs us in the Book of Revelation 12 verse 11 that we can, "Overcome the enemy (that is satan the thief) by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony, when our lives are totally sold out to Jesus" (pharaphrase mine).
When the Israelites crossed the Jordan into the Promised Land, God told Joshua to command the leaders to take 12 stones from the riverbed and stack them up. Why did God do this? "So that this may be a sign among you. Then when your children ask, "what do these stones mean?" you can tell them..." (Read Joshua 4:6-7).
Those stones that God got them to pile up were for a memorial. It was so they could remember the great victory that God had caused for the Children of Israel, where he had taken them from Egypt, the land of bondage, through the wilderness and they had now crossed the Jordan and were in the Promised Land that He had promised them.
God never wanted the Children of Israel to forget His goodness and great victories that He had wrought on behalf of His people. In Psalm 107 we are reminded over and over, to remember and praise God for His goodness and His wonderful works to the children of men.
We can see from Revelation chapter 12 verse 11, that we can overcome the evil one by the Blood of Jesus and by the word of our testimony. Your testimonies from days gone by need to be remembered. You need to share the wonderful things that God has done for you in the past with your children, your grandchildren and other family members and friends. Those testimonies are a bridge from God's past faithfulness manifest in your life, that will give you strength and power to stand strong in any present battle of life you are facing. Encourage yourself with God's faithfulness and victories that you have seen, to stand and know that the God who gave you the victory then, is faithful and He will give you the victory now. "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." Romans 8:37
I encourage you to remember the story of David when he stood before Goliath. What gave David the great confidence he had to face this giant? He didn't have any military training and he didn't have any armour. What he did have, was a covenant with his God and a testimony that he used of God's faithfulness and goodness to give him the victory in this current battle. You can read the story in and around 1 Samuel 17:37.
David had a memorial and so he declared, "The Lord Who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear, will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine." David remembered, and in that remembrance he released his faith. Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."
God hasn't changed, He loves you and He is on your side. He can still calm the storms and bring peace to troubled waters. He can still heal bodies, break chains, and move mountains. He is the God of the now and now faith is. Today He will respond to your faith and belief as you declare His goodness over your circumstances and put your trust in Him. He is a prayer answering God.
We here, at iHarvest Church and World Harvest Ministries, have been continuing to share the goodness of God, preaching and declaring the Gospel by reaching out to the homeless with His Word and His love in practical ways. Each week we work with Oscar Micari from New Hope Care and his teams, as they partner with other churches in and around the greater Brisbane region.
Through coffee vans, BBQ's, King's Kitchen & soup outreaches, we have been distributing, feeding and giving out clothes, blankets and other items to many people in need. Outreaches that I attended with other volunteers from our ministry in the last week and a half, we saw over 14 salvations.
It was so great to see a lady, whom I had met at a local outreach, who we baptised and invited to church, attend this past Sunday. She received prayer at the end of service and an accurate, encouraging, prophetic word from our ministry team.
If you are needing a fresh touch from the Lord or an encouraging prophetic word, I invite you to come along to one of our services some time and we will pray for you and you will be blessed by our ministry team. We have seen many people receive accurate prophetic words, inner healing from past wounds and deliverance. Psalm 78 says, we must "Not hide from the rising generation the great miracles of our God." His miracles and power that have brought us all this far... So every generation will set it's hope in God." If you need a miracle, breakthrough or encouraging word, come along and visit us.
I want to invite you to sow into this ministry and become a builder of memorials in peoples live. When you give, you are partnering with us by helping us spread the Gospel of good news to all people. You are helping us to equip people to live by faith, making it possible for u to continue to love more, reach more, win more and do more for Jesus.
