Forgiveness Part 2

Dear Family, Friends and Partners,

"Forgiveness releases healing" - Dr. Shaun Marler.

Why is forgiveness so powerful?

Forgiveness means different things to different people. When we forgive, we let go! When we let go of something it lessens the burden of what we have been carrying. Through letting go, we release ourselves from the weight of the unforgiveness and its subsequent detrimental effects it can have on our life, relationships and physical as well as mental health.

The famous MAYO Clinic, in their medical research and studies, lists eight benefits of forgiveness and not harbouring unforgiveness within our hearts. These are the following eight benefits they list:-

  1. Healthier relationships.
  2. Improved mental health.
  3. Less anxiety, stress and hostility.
  4. Lower blood pressure.
  5. Fewer symptoms of depression.
  6. A stronger immune system.
  7. Improved heart health.
  8. Improved self-esteem.

The article went on to say, that through unforgiveness you could get swallowed up by your own bitterness and sense of injustice.

These negative emotions of unforgiveness could cause anger in you, sadness and confusion. If you dwell on hurtful events or situations or grudges filled with resentment, vengeance or hostility, these emotions or negative feelings can take root and crowd out the good feelings.

Remember the scripture in Proverbs 17:22, it says, "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones."

Unforgiveness can rob purpose from your life and cause you to think your life lacks meaning. You can spoil new relationships or current relationships. It can affect your relationship with God if you hold deep grudges of unforgiveness towards others.

Remember, "Forgiveness is a freeing, healing, mountain-moving power!"

Unforgiveness can paralyze you. It can hinder your progress in life, purpose, family, business and spirituality. I like to say, "don't just go through it, grow through it!" When you release forgiveness towards those who have wronged you, it helps you grow through the wrong, moving on to a better day! Forgiveness is a force of grace that flows from the Spirit through the recreated human spirit. Forgiveness is a powerful anointing that flows from the divine nature through you. Forgiveness is a quality of God! It is an integral part of His nature, His person and it flows from His love. Forgiveness flows from God to us and demonstrates His love for us.

When we let forgiveness flow from our heart to another, we are allowing God's divine nature, God's divine power, and His grace to flow through us to another. "As He is, so are we in this world."

1 John 4:16-18 says,

"And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love."

From the above scriptures, we can see that when we dwell in love, we dwell in God. Unforgiveness is not love. It is opposed to the very thought or concept of love. Unforgiveness has its root in bitterness, resentment and ultimately hate. Unforgiveness is a part and a power that is released and flows from the kingdom of darkness and the evil one.

Forgiveness flows from and is released from the Kingdom of Light. It is an anointing that flows from the God of love and His Kingdom of Light.

When we have forgiveness in our hearts and we release it to those that have wounded or offended us, we are operating in the Kingdom of Light, its laws and principles. Unforgiveness leads to torment, which leads to fear and prevents us from being perfected in God's love.

"For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6:14-15

Forgiveness is part of the law of sowing and reaping. From the above verses we can see that in order to reap forgiveness we must sow forgiveness. It is very sobering to read that if we do not sow forgiveness our heavenly Father will not forgive us our trespasses.

Jesus would not ask you to do something that is impossible for you to do. Jesus commands us to forgive. When we forgive from our heart, His power will back up that decision and He will empower us with His divine love to forgive the one that has wronged us. All things are possible to those that believe.

Unforgiveness keeps a tally or bares a record of wrongs. Remember, 1 Cor 13 says, God's love keeps no record of wrongs.

"It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs." (1 Corinthians 13:5).

I dare you to forgive! I dare you to believe that God, by His Spirit and through His Son, will empower you to forgive any and all that have wronged you in any way. Release yourself from the traps of the enemy. Receive your freedom today! I dare you to live boldly, with confidence, in freedom before your God. Next week I am looking forward to sending you forgiveness part three!

This Sunday I will be sharing another freedom message on 'The Power of Forgiveness". Please see the details of the meeting below.

God bless, and have a great day!
