Forgiveness

Dear Partner, Family and Friends,

"Unforgiveness is a violation of grace." - Dr. Shaun Marler.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Forgiveness should be at the heart of every Christian walk. Forgiveness is "easily said, harder to do!" People have a tendency to harbour "justified" unforgiveness. They want true signs of repentance before they forgive others. But remember, God gives pardon. Jesus paid the price for our full forgiveness and pardon before God, so that we can grant pardon freely to others. Jesus commanded us to forgive. He did not say, "try to forgive" or "work on forgiving". He just plainly said, "forgive".

“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses" (Mark 11:25).

I like to say, "If you want to flow in mountain-moving faith, you have to flow in mountain-moving forgiveness."

In the above scripture, we can see that Jesus made a profound statement. He said, "When you stand praying, forgive". If you have anything against another person, you must forgive them. Let's read what He went on to say in the next verse.

"But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses" (Mark 11:26).

Jesus states here that if we do not forgive, neither will our heavenly Father forgive us our trespasses (our sins, falling away, wrongdoings, deviation from the truths of God's Word). This is a very sobering thought, and that's why I say that unforgiveness is a violation of God's grace.

"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God" (Romans 5:1-2).

Forgiveness is a force of the recreated human spirit.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

God is love, and we were created in the image of God. The Bible says in the book of Galatians 5:6 that faith works by love. I like to say, "Faith works best when it works by love". Forgiveness flows from love and forgiveness flows from God. As Christians, we are to carry and manifest God and His love to our world!

You are one with God and God is one with you through Jesus Christ our Lord! Forgiveness is an anointing that flows with great healing power and brings restoration and peace. For both the one who caused the offence and for you, the one who forgives the offence. Through forgiveness, we let go. We let go of the past and we enter into the freedom of this new day. Remember, the mercies of the Lord are renewed every morning and great is His faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23).

I dare you to release forgiveness today to any and all who may have offended or hurt you in any way. I dare you to let go of the past and to believe and declare; "Today is a new day! I am free! I am greatly blessed and greatly loved!"

I dare you to decree, "I am a new creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works. Today I will love, serve, and do the will of my heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who loves me and gave Himself for me."

This Sunday, I will be sharing a message on "The Power and Force of Forgiveness and its Benefits".   Please see the details of the meeting below. If you can't be with us in person, please watch our online service.

God bless, and have a great day!
