Health Empowerment

Dear Partners, family and friends,

"Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers."- 3 John 2.

From the above scripture, we can see that it is God's will that, as believers, we enjoy wholesome lives, spirit, soul and body. As we meditate and do a deeper dive into the meanings of the words in this scripture, we get to see, understand and feel how much God desires for us to enjoy life, live it and experience it to the full.  

First and foremost, you are, we are, called the Beloved. The Beloved is also the title of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Through this verse of scripture, it is revealed that God loves us as much as he loves His own Son, Jesus. The Father referred to Jesus as His 'Beloved Son' and here He speaks of the believers in the same glowing terms. He refers to us as His beloved children.  

He goes on to say that He wishes, prays, and desires that we prosper and live in health as our soul prospers. A closer reading reveals that for you to prosper and live in health, is God's number one desire for your life, above all, everything. The words 'all things' here means 'all, every, the whole, every kind of thing.' It paints a picture of the believer living a healthy, whole, prosperous and peaceful life through Jesus Christ.

I am reminded of the scripture in 2 Corinthians 8:9.

"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich."

The word 'healthy' here in 3 John 2 means, "I am well. I am in good health. I am alight, sound, pure and uncorrupted." I means to be sound and healthy in your mind, in your will and in emotions. It covers being financially healthy as well.

Honour your man of God

“Render to all men their dues. [Pay] taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, and honor to whom honor is due.” Romans 13:7 (AMP) The word honour means: to respect, to revere, to treat with deference and submission and perform relevant duties to. Honouring your man of God is vital in the life of every born-again believer. THE LAW OF REPETITION

What you hear repeatedly, you will eventually believe. Repetition, our school teachers know this basic law of learning. That’s why when we were at school, we learned many things in our early years by repetition. Someone once said, “You must hear something at least 16 times, before you eventually believe it”. Television commercials are repeated over and over. These are backed up by newspaper, magazine, internet and billboard advertisements. The marketers know we must continually hear and see something before we respond to it.  Romans 10:17 says “ So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God ”.  It simply takes time to absorb a message.
