Easter Reflections

 Dear Partners, Family & Friends,

I hope you all had a lovely Easter and a great day yesterday.
As I was thinking back over Easter, the following scripture came to mind.

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” - 1 Corinthians 1:18

Let's think about that for a moment, the preaching of the cross to us who are saved is the power of God. I believe the church today needs more preaching on the cross, and the shed blood of Jesus.

Easter is always a great reminder of what God accomplished for each and every one of us through the death and sacrifice of His Son Jesus, on that cross, that day. The Jews celebrate Passover, this feast of Israel that has been celebrated perpetually since the exodus of the children of God from their slavery in Egypt is a wonderful picture of what God did through Jesus Christ at Calvary.

Psalm 105:37 says, "He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes."

Can you get a picture of this in your mind's eye? Can you see this with the eye of faith in your imagination?
The children of God coming out of bondage, coming out of slavery, being liberated from their captives, shouting, singing, dancing and praising God! Other translations read, they came out loadedweighed down with all of the silver and all of the gold of their captors. There was not one, whether young or old, sick or weak amongst them. Everyone came out healed and in perfect health. Their youth had been renewed. How powerful was that first Passover that released God's Holy Spirit power through the Old Covenant and achieved all this.

This looked forward to the cross. This was depicting what Jesus was going to do for us when He became a curse for us and died that day in our place. Communion represents and is a picture of this powerful history changing event. This has changed the eternal destiny of multitudes of believers.

Passover looked forward to the cross and received it's benefits by faith. Through communion, as we remember Jesus, we look back to the cross and we are to receive it's benefits by faith.

Jesus Christ has obtained eternal victory, salvation, healing and prosperity for YOU! I dare you, read 2 Corinthians 8:9 "For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich." I dare you, to grab your bible, open to this verse, read it out loud putting your name in there and start praising God for all of the things He has accomplished for you and your family.

As we now enter this new season as the Shemitah year has come to a close, let us remember that Jesus is our Jubilee and remember who the Son sets free, is free indeed!

God bless,

Ps. Shaun Marler
