Trust in the Lord!
Trust in the Lord!
Dear Partners, Friends & Family,
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit." Jeremiah 17:7-8
Throughout the Bible we are instructed, or we could say, "greatly encouraged" by God to trust in Him. Throughout the Word of God, you find this incredible thought repeated over and over, that is, because it is central to our faith, our salvation and to us receiving God's best. God wants His children to have the greatest of trust in Him. In the above scripture, the Hebrew word for trust is 'batach', pronounced "bah-takh" and this Hebrew word means; to be bold, which means confident, secure and sure, to the point where you are completely careless. This means you have cast all your cares and troubles onto the Lord, and you have put your confidence in Him and His Word. It means that God is your hope of a positive and expected outcome, and you are fully relying upon, trusting in His word, you have put your confidence in and are secure in this belief that God is a promise keeping God and He will make His Word good on your behalf. In other words, He will heal, deliver, set free, make whole, give you peace and give you the full victory in whatever situation you are facing.
In the above scripture it shows that this person that trusts in the Lord will be carefree even in the year of drought and they will not cease from yielding fruit. God will make the person that trusts in Him a fruitful vine and will bless and take care of that one, perfecting that which concerns them. Another meaning of this word trust is to fall down or to throw oneself down upon their face, extended on the ground. This is a complete surrender and submission of oneself to the Almighty God in an act of worship. Get this; one of the meanings of the word 'trust' is complacent. You acquire a posture of complete complacency and carelessness concerning your needs as you are fully confident and secure in your relationship with God. The Bible says, having done all to stand, stand. We do our part and God does His. The verb expresses placing one's full weight upon someone or something with a calm assurance. It is not a negating of our responsibilities or obligations as we must do our part. We are co-labourers together with God. We must be doers of the Word and not hearers only. Once we have done our part we can fully expect and trust that God will do His and we can stay in an attitude of gratitude, a place of humility, submission and worship.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. In Romans 10:17, the Greek word for faith is 'Pistis', and it simply means, assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity. It is a conviction that God's word is true. It means you are fully persuaded and have come to trust and have put credence in God and His word. Faith put simply, is having trust in God and what He says is so. God the Lord, guarantees that all of His revelation or Word will come to pass. Faith is God's warranty that guarantees the fulfilment of the revelation His word births by the power of the Holy Spirit, within the receptive believer.
So then, to have faith in God and to put your trust in the Lord is to fully believe that what God has promised He is able also to perform and will perform on your behalf. Abraham demonstrated this kind of trust and faith in God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.
18 "who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” 19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Romans 4:18-22
To trust in God is so important that God has placed it as the middle verse in the Bible. Psalm 118:8 states, "It is better to trust in the Lord than to put your confidence in man." In the present chapter and verse divisions of the Bible, I find it striking and amazing that this is the middle verse. In Psalm 13:5, the Psalmist writes, "But I will trust in your unfailing love." Then from the book of wisdom, in Proverbs 3:5 we read, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding."
Through covenant God has submitted Himself to His people and trusting in Him becomes the appropriate human response to God and the covenant He has cut with us. In Psalm 20:7 it says, "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember (trust) the Name of the Lord of God."
Thank you to everybody that has been praying for peace in the Nations, let us all continue to intercede for peace on earth and goodwill to all men. The Church is here to bring the peace of God and release the Kingdom of God and His goodness on the Nations until we are caught away at the Rapture. Jesus will return and is coming soon but, in the meantime, we have a responsibility to pray for the nations and the leaders thereof. Also to pray for all people to be saved. We need to see the greatest revival and harvest of souls the world has ever seen before Jesus comes to bring us home. The Word says that the last days will be perilous and troubled times, however, in these times we can have peace, and we can have revival and blessings if we continue to pray and don't quit. God is moving and He is answering the prayers of His people. Even in the last couple of days we have seen a ceasefire between Israel and Iran and a time of promised peace. I encourage you intercessors to constantly pray for Israel and Jerusalem, peace in the middle east and God's peace and prosperity to come upon our world.
The day and time of God's judgement will come upon the whole earth after the Rapture of the Church but until that day the Church is the restraining force commissioned by God to make and spread peace. We do this by sharing the gospel of the good news of God's love and our prayers of peace, harmony and blessing.
Remember, we don't wrestle against flesh and blood but principalities and powers in high places, yet God has given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
