Faith Cometh

Faith Cometh

Dear Partners, Family & Friends,

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. - Romans 10:17

The Word says, "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God", notice the word is 'hearing', it's not 'heard'. There is a scripture (in 2 Peter 1:12) that says, though you know certain truths, you need to be established in these truths.

We can't just hear the word once! To live a strong Christian life out of the spirit man, we need to feed our spirit-man daily. In the natural, to have a well-functioning body we need to feed our physical person good nutritious food, in the right quantities.

I believe it was Smith Wigglesworth who said that God said to him, "My people feed their body 3 square meals a day and their spirit 1 quick snack a week. Then they wonder why the Word is not working for them."

God gave me a saying once, and it went like this, "The Word works, when you work the Word". This thought goes along with our previous blog study, that faith without corresponding actions is dead. James said in the Bible "you say you have faith, you do well. I by my works or corresponding actions prove I have faith." (James 2:18-24)

So, let's unpack these thoughts a little bit. Firstly, just like our physical bodies require adequate and regular good nutrition daily, in the same way so does our spirit. It was Jesus who said, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by each and every word which proceeds forth out of the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4)

So then, faith comes by hearing and hearing and hearing by the Word of God. I dare you to feed your spirit daily. I dare you to get your Bible, open it and feed on your daily bread from the mouth of God. Add faith, to this regime by meditating over and over the Word or promises you have read. Then make a declaration of that promise over your own circumstances, life, family, and situations, by speaking out what you have read boldly, and putting your name in there.

For example, as we were taught by Stuart Ballantyne a few weeks ago, we could say, after reading 1 Peter 2:24 - "who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed."

Based on that, let's say the scripture above out loud, "I (put your name here) am healed by the stripes of Jesus, and because I'm healed, I am fantastic and getting better."

Death and life are in the power of your tongue, I dare you to daily make bold faith confessions regardless of your situation over the circumstances, casting those circumstances into the sea. Moving the mountains by faith, by speaking the good Word of God and calling those things that be not as though they are.

I dare you to make a quality decision to have a victorious and joy filled week by praising the Lord and declaring the victory of the word every day over anything and everything that comes your way. Casting all your cares, of everything and everyone upon the Lord.

Have a powerful week as you 'faith it till you make it'.

God bless,

Ps. Shaun Marler
