The Spirit of Might

Dear Partners, Family & Friends, 

I have just been at Celebration X on the Sunshine Coast with Pastors Daniel & Chelsea Hagen. I had the privilege and the honour of sharing on the topic of Joy. When Ps. Daniel asked me to share a word, I sought the Lord as to what He wanted me to speak on. He dropped one word into my spirit, "Joy". As I mediated on this word, God gave me fresh insight and understanding to the power of joy and the necessity of it manifesting in the life of the Believer.

I've always liked the quote from Jerry Savelle, "If the devil can't take your joy, he can't steal your goods."

Immediately, God dropped the scripture Nehemiah 8:10b into my spirit. "...for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

The Joy of the Lord is our strength. From the word in Psalm 8:2, the Psalmist speaks of 'strength' coming out of babies and children. In the book of Matthew when Jesus quoted this verse, He used the word 'praise'.

So, we can see that praise equals strength and strength equals praise. When we release joyful sounds of praise, we are releasing God's strength from our inner man/spirit.

Joy is a force of the re-born human spirit or re-created human spirit. 2 Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

When we were born-again and we became a new creation, God put joy into our spirit, in the form of the 'Spirit of Might'. The Spirit of Might is one of the 7 Spirits of God, or we could say the multiplicity of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit wants to work in and through our life, through His power and might! 

The Christian life is to be lived in the strength of the Spirit. This strength or power is released and expressed in words. Words of joy, celebration and praise. 

I dare you, to praise the Lord each morning this week. I dare you to open the book of Psalms and start reading and when you find a power packed promise from God, praise it back to Him out loud with a joy filled heart of thanksgiving!

Honour your man of God

“Render to all men their dues. [Pay] taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, and honor to whom honor is due.” Romans 13:7 (AMP) The word honour means: to respect, to revere, to treat with deference and submission and perform relevant duties to. THE LAW OF REPETITION

What you hear repeatedly, you will eventually believe. Repetition, our school teachers know this basic law of learning. That’s why when we were at school, we learned many things in our early years by repetition. Someone once said, “You must hear something at least 16 times, before you eventually believe it”. Television commercials are repeated over and over. These are backed up by newspaper, magazine, internet and billboard advertisements. The marketers know we must continually hear and see something before we respond to it.  Romans 10:17 says “ So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God ”.  It simply takes time to absorb a message.
