The Joy of the Lord

Dear Partners, Friends & Family,


"Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” - Nehemiah 8:10b

The Hebrew word 'Joy' here means gladness and comes from another Hebrew word with the meaning 'rejoicing' with gladness and joy.

We have been looking at the force of joy for the last couple of weeks. Remember, 'joy' is a force of the re-born or re-created human spirit. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

It says, "if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation," or we could say, a species of being that never existed before. When you are in Christ, you are a new creation, a child of the Most-High God. You have been baptized or immersed into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit has taken up residence in your heart.

When born-again you have become one with God, you are a partaker of God's divine nature. The qualities of God have been birthed into your spirit, your inner man, by the Spirit of God. You are one with God and God is one with you. "As He is, so are we in this world."

1 John 4:17 - "Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world."

God is a joyful God, or we could say, God is full of joy. In His presence is the fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). Now His presence is in you, you are full of joy. This joy, this force of your re-created spirit, is part of God's nature in you. This joy is in you in seed form.

John 1:12 - "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name."

You have the power within, the potential to become a fully manifested child or son of the Living God. You have been born of the Spirit, of the un-limited Spirit of the Living God. All things are possible to you, now that you believe. 

I dare you to become a powerhouse for Jesus and release the Spirit of Might and strength from your life by joying, re-joying or joying over and over again. God tells us to rejoice. Stir up the gift of the Spirit. Cultivate the fruit of the Spirit. Regardless of how you feel today or the circumstances that are circling you about or the mountains that are in your way, or the trials that are weighing you down, count it all joy. Begin to rejoice and thereby, by this action of faith releasing joy from your inner man, from your spirit, the divine force of God's joy. You will find a new energy, you will discover a new outlook on life. You can start to laugh at the circumstances, knowing that the circumstances are subject to change. 

I dare you today, to speak to your mountain, I dare you to laugh at the problems of life. I dare you to rise up this day allowing the force of joy to flow through you and get on everything around you. Remember, you are a champion. You have been called and destined to win.

Honour your man of God

“Render to all men their dues. [Pay] taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, and honor to whom honor is due.” Romans 13:7 (AMP) The word honour means: to respect, to revere, to treat with deference and submission and perform relevant duties to. Honouring your man of God is vital in the life of every born-again believer. Even as a Senior Pastor, it is a privilege for me to honour the men of God that I consider my spiritual fathers and mentors. They are life coaches to me on my spiritual journey to success, shining examples of excellence in ministry, men to whom I look for advice, prayer, guidance and leadership. THE LAW OF REPETITION

What you hear repeatedly, you will eventually believe. Repetition, our school teachers know this basic law of learning. That’s why when we were at school, we learned many things in our early years by repetition. Someone once said, “You must hear something at least 16 times, before you eventually believe it”. Television commercials are repeated over and over. These are backed up by newspaper, magazine, internet and billboard advertisements. The marketers know we must continually hear and see something before we respond to it.  Romans 10:17 says “ So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God ”.  It simply takes time to absorb a message.
