Father's Day
Dear Partner, family & friends,
"Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a dad, and that's why I call you dad, because you are so special to me" - Wade Boggs
This Sunday is Father's Day! I felt to share on the importance of honouring our Dads. As you can see from the quote, anyone can be a Father, but not every Father is a Dad. Our heavenly Father is not only a Father to us, but He is also a Dad. God loves us, sending His only Son to die for us, to give us everlasting life, joy, peace and happiness. God not only wants to be a Father to you in the eternal Kingdoms to come, but He wants to be a Dad to you now.
God wants to protect us; care for us with long life, satisfy us and reveal to us His great salvation.
Romans 8:15 says, "The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’"
We can see here that we are to call God Abba Father. Not only Father but Abba, which means Daddy.
Abba means - "Father," also used as the term of tender endearment by a beloved child - i.e. in an affectionate, dependent relationship with their father; "daddy," "papa."
You can see from this meaning that God wants to have a close personal relationship with you being your Daddy. God is also "Father", which means "One who imparts life and is committed to it; a progenitor, bringing into being to pass on the potential for likeness."
2 Corinthians 3:18 says, "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord."
God wants all of us to grow into His same image as He is. He wants us not only to be Fathers, but He wants us to be Daddys. Let us all have a goal to allow the Holy Spirit, through the Word of God, to keep on changing us so that we can grow up into Him to be like Him.
There is a lot of fear on the earth today, but God doesn't want us to be in fear, slavery or bondage. Jesus came to set the captives free. "Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed" (John 8: 36).
I dare you to boldly declare, "Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!" Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty!
I dare you to continue to grow and be everything God has destined and designed you to be. Let us honour our heavenly Dad and all of our Fathers at this time. Let's continue to pray for every Father and for all of their children, that we might all experience and know the love of our heavenly Father that has been provided for us in Jesus Christ.
God bless and much love,
